Overview

HangerSearch helps engineering teams search and compare technical report archives. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our service during early access. Current controls and program status are on the Trust page.

Information we collect

  • Account details: work email, name, company, and onboarding profile fields.
  • Documents you upload for search and indexing within your workspace.
  • Usage data: search queries, feedback signals, and standard server logs.
  • Sign-in country from the CDN (ISO code plus Europe / US / other). Used to plan data residency. We do not store GPS or a street address.

How we use information

We use your data to provide authentication, workspace isolation, search, indexing, product support, and security monitoring. We do not sell personal information.

Data isolation

Each organization's reports and search indexes are scoped by workspace. Your uploaded documents are not shared with other customers.

Roles

For documents you upload, HangerSearch is a processor and your organization is the controller. For account, onboarding, and billing records, HangerSearch is the controller. Email hello@hangersearch.com with subject “DPA request” for a Data Processing Agreement.

International transfers

We are not listed under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Cross-border processing uses our providers’ Standard Contractual Clauses. Putting data in an EU region does not by itself change the legal jurisdiction of the company that operates the service. Details are on the Trust page.

Cookies and analytics

Sign-in uses essential session cookies. Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and the Reddit Pixel load only after you accept optional analytics, and they stay off when your browser sends Global Privacy Control. We do not sell personal information.
